  • Encourage waste reduction

Our engagement for 2022-23

We have partnered with Mission 1000 tonnes to take action for the betterment of our planet. The Laboratoire Suisse team joined in by cleaning out waste near waterways.

Our engagements :

  • For each ECO product sold, we will donate $0.50 to Mission 1000 tonnes*

LABORATOIRE SUISSE’S ENVIRONMENTAL APPROACH

Knowing that health is in part derived from a cleaner environment, Laboratoire Suisse is proud to engage in a genuine environmental approach. Our objective is to enrich our offering to consumers by continuing to provide them with high quality products while also doing more to protect the environment. Therefore, we have been reflecting on all aspects of our activities and actions that can be undertaken to reduce our ecological footprint. As such, we want to be at the forefront as an eco-responsible leader in the field of natural health products.
Our environmental approach focuses on 3 key areas: ecological packaging, local manufacturing and continuous improvement. We are committed to reaching specific targets by 2025 and have already taken concrete actions to achieve them as outlined below.

Ecological packaging

Whether they are made of cardboard, plastic or glass, packaging plays a crucial role in maintaining the quality of our products. While most of our packaging is recyclable*, we are committed to reducing the amount of packaging, using more sustainable materials to produce them, and facilitating their post-consumption recycling, all as part of our environmental approach.

* Where facilities exist.

Laboratoire Suisse is proud to launch new bottles made from 100% recycled materials, among the first in Canada’s natural health products sector. As these new bottles are gradually introduced to the market, we will reach a 50 % proportion of our products being marketed in packaging made from recycled materials by the end of 2021. We want to give more value to consumers who are not only concerned about their health, but also about their environmental impact. Our new eco-friendly packaging complies with pharmaceutical standards applicable to natural health products as defined by Health Canada, thus ensuring and preserving the quality of our products.

Absolutely! Our new, more eco-friendly packaging complies with pharmaceutical standards put in place by Health Canada for natural health products to ensure and preserve the quality of our products. Moreover, our new bottles are made of plastic resins in compliance with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) guidelines. These resins come exclusively from post-consumer HDPE plastic from food product bottles, such as milk, water or juices. These bottles do not originally contain any bisphenol A (BPA), and no BPA is introduced as an additive during recycling. Besides, no toxic chemicals or conflict minerals are used in the manufacturing or the distribution process of this recycled plastic. Throughout the entire process, our products never get in contact with any major known allergens*. *Milk and dairy products, peanuts and peanut products, wheat and wheat products, fish, shellfish, soy and soy products, eggs and egg products, food colouring, nuts, mustard, celery, sesame seeds, latex, sulphites and sulphur.

Yes, our new eco-friendly container is made of 100% recycled materials and is also recyclable*. * Where facilities exist.

We are proud to introduce these new bottles made from recycled materials and launch our environmental approach. This is a first step in making our packaging more sustainable. In fact, we will be forming a multi-sectoral committee responsible for identifying potential ways to raise our position as an eco-responsible leader in the field of natural health products. By 2025, our goal is to commercialize 75% of our products in packaging made from recycled materials.

As a proud Canadian company, we support local manufacturing and packaging as a way to stimulate job creation and Canada’s economic vitality. Besides packaging many of our supplements and natural health products in our Boucherville facilities, we prioritize local suppliers whenever possible.
